The Melbourne Rebels, who have won the NRL’s New South Wales Cup and the Queensland Cup this season, are to play host to the Melbourne Rebels on March 13.
The Rebels have been a fixture in the Melbourne Cup competition for years and are one of two Victorian sides invited to play.
The Rebels are one-time Queensland Cup champions, but have not been in the top six since 2010.
Their first-ever NRL match was against Canterbury Warriors in 2014, with a 22-14 victory for the Rabbitohs.
This year’s match is the first of two in Melbourne for both sides, with the other being held at ANZ Stadium on March 10.
